Robot waiter: model answer
An Abu Dhabi company is developing a robot for use in the home and the service industry. The project started 3 years ago in Spain and it now has a model which is available to buy. The next major challenge is to produce a robot which recognises objects before picking them up. Once this has been achieved these robots can take over tasks in hotels by acting as waiters, and could also be useful in hospitals. Eventually these robots will be used in people’s homes when the price drops.
