Summary:

Traditional Emirati sports are important part of the national identity. Activities that used to be part of how the community survived are now associated more with sport.

There is not enough interest in the traditional way of life amongst young Emiratis although there are some students helping to keep the old traditions alive.

They decided to show other young people that these traditions are alive and an important part of the national heritage.

Many of the traditions started as part of economic necessity but now are normally sporting activities such a falconry and dhow racing.

It is important that young people carry on these traditions or they might be lost.
